Brivo B-BSPSF-W Smart Reader (Tri-Tech)
The B-BSPSF-W is the white single-gang tri-tech reader — the black B-BSPSF-B finished to blend into light trim, with the same trick that matters: alongside phones and encrypted smart cards, it still reads a building’s old 125 kHz HID Prox cards. That’s the difference between a modernization that needs a reissue weekend and one that doesn’t. Put these on the doors and every prox card already in circulation keeps working while you switch people over to Brivo Mobile Pass and smart cards whenever it suits them. The old cards retire themselves.
Past that it’s the modern Brivo reader through and through. Mobile Pass over Bluetooth and NFC, encrypted 13.56 MHz smart cards (B-SC, B-SCP) and B-SF fobs, legacy prox, and OSDP secure channel with Wiegand as a fallback. Keep the security ladder in mind: the smart card over OSDP is the locked-down option, and the old prox is the easy, weaker credential you’re only carrying through the transition. So you lean on encrypted credentials at the doors that guard something and let the front entrance stay easy.
Easy is where Brivo earns its keep on a residential building. A resident taps with the phone in a pocket, opens the app, or turns on Face ID if they want the extra step — and at a normal apartment or office entrance, that’s already more than the door’s threat model calls for. The reader doesn’t force everyone onto one credential; it meets people where they are, which is the whole reason these go in so smoothly.
It works with any current Brivo panel from the ACS100-E up to the ACS6000-E / 6100-E, drops into a standard 1-gang box, and carries the usual multi-color LED, beeper, IP55 rating and −35 to 66 °C range — enough for a covered exterior door through a Chicago winter. The black version is the B-BSPSF-B. If there’s no prox to keep alive, the dual-tech B-BSSF-W is simpler; for a PIN on top, the keypad tri-tech B-BSPKF-W; and for narrow frames, the mullion tri-tech B-BSPMF-W. The guide runs the whole family if you’re still narrowing down. Write us — we can usually spot the right model from one photo of the doorway.
