The B-BSPSF-B is the single-gang Brivo Smart Reader that also reads old 125 kHz HID Prox cards — and that one extra makes it the reader for a building that isn’t ready to reissue everyone. Most places that have run access control for a while have a drawer full of prox cards and a few hundred people carrying them. The tri-tech reader lets you hang modern hardware on the doors today and keep every one of those old cards working, so nobody’s locked out on cutover day. Worth being straight about the security ladder here — the encrypted smart cards and the OSDP channel are the strong part; old prox is the convenient, lower-security leg you’re keeping only to bridge the migration. On a door protecting real value you push people onto the encrypted credentials; on a building entrance you let them tap whatever they’ve already got.
