Brivo B-BSPSF-B Smart Reader (Tri-Tech)
The B-BSPSF-B is the single-gang Brivo Smart Reader that also reads old 125 kHz HID Prox cards — and that one extra makes it the reader for a building that isn’t ready to reissue everyone. Most places that have run access control for a while have a drawer full of prox cards and a few hundred people carrying them. The tri-tech reader lets you hang modern hardware on the doors today and keep every one of those old cards working, so nobody’s locked out on cutover day. People move to phones or encrypted smart cards on their own pace, and when the last prox card finally ages out you just stop issuing them. No flag day, no angry tenants.
Otherwise it’s the full modern reader: Brivo Mobile Pass over Bluetooth and NFC, Brivo’s encrypted 13.56 MHz smart cards (B-SC, B-SCP) and B-SF fobs, the legacy prox, and OSDP secure channel to the panel with Wiegand behind it. Worth being straight about the security ladder here — the encrypted smart cards and the OSDP channel are the strong part; old prox is the convenient, lower-security leg you’re keeping only to bridge the migration. On a door protecting real value you push people onto the encrypted credentials; on a building entrance you let them tap whatever they’ve already got.
That entrance flexibility is the Brivo part people like. Phone in the pocket and tap the reader, unlock from the app, or require Face ID first on the few doors that warrant it — and for a normal residential or office entrance, an old prox card or a phone tap is exactly enough. You fit the credential to the door instead of forcing one standard on every opening.
It pairs with any current Brivo panel from the ACS100-E to the ACS6000-E / 6100-E, mounts in a standard 1-gang box, and the matte-black face suits dark frames and glass. Same tri-tech reader in white is the B-BSPSF-W. No legacy prox to carry? The dual-tech B-BSSF-B is the cleaner pick. Need a PIN alongside the prox migration? The keypad tri-tech B-BSPKF-B adds it, and the mullion tri-tech B-BSPMF-B does the same job on narrow frames. Multi-color LED, beeper, IP55, and a −35 to 66 °C range for a Chicago winter. If the prox migration timeline is fuzzy, the reader guide helps you weigh tri-tech against dual-tech honestly. Talk to us — and bring the old cards.
