Brivo B-BSMF-W Smart Reader
The B-BSMF-W is the white mullion reader in Brivo’s Smart Reader line — same narrow body as the black B-BSMF-B, finished white so it blends into a light frame instead of a dark one. On a painted aluminum storefront, a white elevator surround, or a bright residential lobby with glass entry doors, the white face sits flush with the trim and mostly vanishes. The whole reason this model exists is fit: where a standard single-gang reader is too wide for a glass mullion or a slim door frame, this one goes.
Underneath the slim profile it’s the full reader. Brivo Mobile Pass over Bluetooth and NFC, encrypted 13.56 MHz smart cards (B-SC, B-SCP) and B-SF fobs, and OSDP secure channel to the panel with Wiegand behind it. The encryption is what lets you put a reader on an exposed glass entrance without worrying that someone lifts it off the frame and grabs a credential off the wires — done right, there’s no simple way through it.
For apartment lobbies and elevator cabs, which is where mullion readers mostly live, Bluetooth is the part residents notice. Phone stays in the pocket and they tap the frame, or they unlock from the app, or the app asks for Face ID first on a more sensitive cab — though a normal residential elevator doesn’t need that last step. It gives up a little on paper versus a hard credential, but for an entrance or a cab that trade is the right one and people actually use it every day.
It works with any current Brivo panel from the ACS100-E to the ACS6000-E / 6100-E, runs phones and cards together, and carries the same multi-color LED, beeper, IP55 rating and −35 to 66 °C range as the rest — worth having on an outdoor gate mullion that has to ride out a Chicago winter. The black version is the B-BSMF-B for darker frames. If the building still runs 125 kHz prox and you want it to keep working on these narrow openings, the tri-tech B-BSPMF-W handles it; and for a door that needs a PIN, the keypad models are single-gang — see the B-BSKF-W. Not sure a mullion mount is the right call for your storefront? The guide walks the trade-offs; a photo of your frame settles it faster.
