Brivo B-BSKF-B Smart Reader with Keypad
The B-BSKF-B is the single-gang Brivo Smart Reader with a keypad built in, in matte black. The keypad is the whole reason to pick it: on most doors a tap with a phone or a card is plenty, but some openings want a second factor, and that’s where this one goes. You can run it two ways — a PIN on its own where a credential would be overkill, or credential-plus-PIN two-factor where it matters: present the phone or fob and then key in the code. A pharmacy, a cash room, an IT closet, a records room — the door that needs more than “something you have” gets “something you know” on top of it.
Everything else is the modern Brivo reader. Brivo Mobile Pass over Bluetooth and NFC, encrypted 13.56 MHz smart cards (B-SC, B-SCP) and B-SF fobs, and OSDP secure channel to the panel — encrypted, so the credential and the PIN aren’t exposed on the wires behind the reader. Wiegand’s there for older gear. Between the encrypted channel and the second factor, this is about as locked-down as a single opening gets short of a guard, which is exactly why it’s the reader we put on the doors that are protecting something worth real money.
It still does the easy stuff for the doors that want it. On a building entrance you can skip the PIN entirely and let residents tap with a phone in their pocket, open the app, or require Face ID for the few who want it — fit the security to the door. The keypad just means the same reader covers both the convenient front-door experience and the strict back-room one, so a building doesn’t need two different products.
It pairs with any current Brivo panel from the ACS100-E to the ACS6000-E / 6100-E, mounts in a standard 1-gang box, and carries the multi-color LED, beeper, IP55 rating, and −35 to 66 °C range of the rest of the line — fine for a covered exterior door through a Chicago winter. Same keypad reader in white is the B-BSKF-W. No PIN needed? The plain single-gang B-BSSF-B is the simpler pick. Still running 125 kHz prox and want the keypad too? The tri-tech B-BSPKF-B does all of it. Our reader guide covers when a keypad earns its price and when it’s overkill — ask us about the specific door, because that answer decides it.
