Best Fit & Recommended For
Paxton P75 Proximity Reader (373-110) — Architectural Large Net2 / Switch2 Reader
The Paxton P75 (373-110) is the architectural large 125 kHz proximity reader in Paxton’s Net2 / Switch2 line — 3” wide premium form factor with 4” token read range and 5 ft hands-free range (the largest in the P-series). Reads Paxton tokens and EM 4100/02 credentials, IP67 weatherproof.
Most P75s we hang go on the doors that move the most people — the main entry of a multi-tenant building, the pedestrian door next to a parking gate, a busy office front. The extra hands-free range is the whole point: fobs read while people keep walking.
Why the Larger Read Range Matters
Standard P50 (353-110) delivers 3” token read range, fine for most commercial doors. The P75 extends this to 4” + 5 ft hands-free — meaningful at:
- High-traffic main entries — users approach reader at walking pace, hands-free credential reads as they walk through
- Vehicle gate pedestrian access — driver-side credential read without rolling down window
- ADA / accessible entries — easier credential presentation for users with mobility limitations
- Premium architectural lobbies — larger reader form matches premium-finish aesthetic
MIFARE Variants
Standard P75 reads Paxton tokens + EM 125 kHz. MIFARE-capable variants of the P75 are available on request — same large form factor, MIFARE 13.56 MHz reading. Specified at site walkthrough per credential policy.

| Read range — token | 2.5” | 3” | 4” |
| Hands-free range | 3 ft | 4 ft | 5 ft |
| Best fit | Narrow frames | Most commercial | Premium architectural / high-traffic / hands-free |
Where the Paxton P75 Wins in Chicago
- Main building entries that see heavy foot traffic — hands-free reads keep the line moving
- Office lobby readers where the extended read range earns its cost
- Vehicle gate pedestrian access at HOA / property management gates with long-range hands-free
- Multi-tenant residential premium lobbies
- Warehouse pedestrian doors where gloves and full hands make a short-range reader a pain
- ADA / accessible entries where easier credential presentation matters
