Paxton KP50 Proximity Keypad Reader (355-110) — Net2 / Switch2 Card + PIN 2-Factor

The Paxton KP50 (355-110) is the combined card + keypad reader for Paxton’s Net2 / Switch2 systems — integrates a 125 kHz proximity reader with a 12-button PIN keypad in a single unit. Standard 2” wall-mount form factor, IP67 weatherproof. Configurable authentication: card-only / PIN-only / card + PIN 2-factor per door in Net2 software.

On a Net2 site, this is the reader that goes on the doors people actually worry about — the server room, the cash office, the HOA front entry where residents key a PIN after hours. One unit covers both factors, so there’s no second device cluttering the wall.

When 2-Factor PIN Matters

Card-only access is sufficient for most commercial doors. PIN 2-factor is required at:

  • Server rooms, IT closets (cybersecurity audits)
  • Pharmacy and medication storage at storefront clinics (HIPAA / DEA)
  • HOA front-doors (resident PIN policy)
  • Cash-handling areas (loss-prevention)

The KP50’s flexible authentication modes mean the same reader works as card-only at non-sensitive doors and card + PIN at sensitive doors — Net2 software controls the policy per door.

MIFARE Variants

Standard KP50 reads Paxton tokens + EM 125 kHz. MIFARE-capable variants of the KP50 are available on request — same form factor, same keypad, MIFARE 13.56 MHz reading. We specify per credential policy at site walkthrough.
