The HID iCLASS SE R90 is the long-range reader from HID Global’s iCLASS SE platform — supporting iCLASS SE and SEOS 13.56 MHz credentials at extended read range for vehicle-mounted credential reading. Wiegand output, IP55-rated for outdoor pole / pedestal positions.
The iCLASS SE R90 is purpose-built for vehicle gates, parking-garage entries, drive-through applications, and HOA gated communities where the credential is held in the vehicle and the driver shouldn’t have to roll down the window or extend an arm to present the credential.
When Long-Range Reading Matters
Standard iCLASS SE readers (R10 / R15 / R40) work at 2.5–4 in / 6–10 cm read range — fine for pedestrian entries where the user presents the card to the reader. Vehicle applications require:
- 60+ in / 150+ cm read range so the driver doesn’t have to extend out of the vehicle
- Outdoor / pole-mount durability for weather exposure
- High-throughput for busy gate operations
