Schlage RC15 Single-Gang Reader-Controller for Chicago Single-Door and Zentra Enrollment
Model / Series: RC15
The Schlage RC15 is a single-gang hybrid reader-controller from Allegion's Schlage RC series — combines a multi-technology reader and an integrated single-door controller in one body. Reads 125 kHz Prox + 13.56 MHz smart cards with optional BLE mobile credentials. Doubles as an enrollment station for Schlage XE360 wireless electronic locks on the Allegion Zentra platform — present a credential at the RC15 to enroll it into the XE360 / Zentra lock population without a separate desktop reader.

Schlage RC15 Single-Gang Reader-Controller
The Schlage RC15 is a hybrid reader-controller from Allegion’s Schlage RC series — combining a multi-technology reader and an integrated single-door controller into one single-gang body that mounts on a standard US wall plate. The RC15 reads 125 kHz Prox (HID, AWID, EM, Indala) and 13.56 MHz smart cards (iCLASS, MIFARE, DESFire, FeliCa, Picopass), with optional Bluetooth Low Energy mobile credentials. The integrated controller drives the door directly — one lock-output relay, door-contact, REX, and tamper inputs all wired to the same RC15.
Doubles as an Enrollment Station for the Zentra Platform
A unique feature of the Schlage RC series: the RC11 / RC15 / RCK15 can also serve as an enrollment station for XE360 wireless electronic locks on the Allegion Zentra platform. In a building that uses XE360 wireless locks at guest rooms, classrooms, dorm rooms, or other doors where running power and network is impractical, the RC15 mounted at the building manager’s desk becomes the central credential-enrollment point — present a new credential at the RC15 once, and the system writes the credential rights to be honored by the XE360 wireless locks across the Zentra-platform building.
This eliminates the need for a separate desktop USB enrollment reader (like the Schlage MT20W) when the property already needs a wall-mounted RC reader-controller for at least one door — the RC15 covers both jobs.

RC-Series vs. MT-Series Schlage Readers
The standalone Schlage MT15 reader pairs with a separate access control panel (Brivo, Genetec, Lenel, etc.) to form a complete door. The RC15 packages both the reader and the controller into one unit — no separate panel needed for the door it controls. Choose RC15 when:
- The deployment is exactly one door (or a small number of independent doors) and a separate panel would be over-architected
- The property needs an enrollment station for XE360 wireless locks on Zentra and wants the same hardware to also control a building-management or front-desk door
- The installation environment makes running cable to a back-of-house panel impractical (retrofit, leased space, historic buildings)
Choose MT15 (separate reader + separate panel) when the project includes 2+ doors that benefit from centralized panel management.
Where the Schlage RC15 Wins in Chicago
