Schlage MTB11 Mullion BLE Multi-Technology Reader
The Schlage MTB11 combines two of the most-requested commercial reader features into a single narrow body: mullion form factor for aluminum storefront frames, and Bluetooth Low Energy mobile credentials through Allegion ENGAGE / Schlage Mobile Access. Plus the standard Schlage MT-series multi-tech card support — 125 kHz Prox (HID, AWID, EM, Indala) and 13.56 MHz smart cards (iCLASS, MIFARE, DESFire, FeliCa) — over Wiegand output to any commercial access panel.
The typical job: a glass storefront where the tenant wants phone entry for staff, but the old Prox cards from the last contractor still have to work. One narrow reader on the mullion covers both.
Why Mobile + Mullion Together
Storefront doors are the most-used entries at any commercial property — every staff member, every visitor, every delivery passes through them. They are also the doors with the tightest physical constraints: narrow aluminum mullions, glass doors that cannot accommodate wall-mount readers, and aesthetics that demand the cleanest possible install. The MTB11 solves both at once:
- ~45 mm narrow body fits cleanly on the mullion at hand level
- Mobile credentials for staff who already carry phones — no card to fish out of a wallet at the front door
- Multi-tech cards for visitors, contractors, and the legacy population still on Prox or MIFARE
- Wiegand output works with any commercial access panel — no proprietary firmware lock-in
